You will not reach me. You will not change me.
A soft-shelled, napkin roof battered with hail could never hold up. You’re wrong.
Tears can be patted. Make-up setting spray, not needed today.
I never wanted to be a rock. I never will be. I will not harden. You will not, cannot change me.
Hi Emily. I stumbled across your blog because one of my twin babies has congenital hypothyroidism. They are a little over one year old and I am considering what I will use in place of breast milk for that transition. I really want to avoid cows milk and I am curious if you have done research in this area and what your thoughts were feelings are with what to take the place. Would love to hear any of your input. Thank you!

We used a slightly modified version of Dr. Axe’s goat kefir formula. She still drinks 2-3 servings of this mixture daily.
2oz filtered water
2oz coconut water
4oz goat kefir
1/4 teaspoon flax oil
1/4 teaspoon nutritional yeast
1/4 teaspoon coconut oil

I breastfed exclusively for 3 months only; she was just not satisfied with nursing. Either it was too much work or my supply was low…or all of the above. I breastfed my other 4 daughters for 15, 14, 14, and 10.5 months, so it isn’t that I was inexperienced or not determined.
It was truly heartbreaking for me to start supplementing at 3 months, and then to finally stop pumping ANY more breastmilk by 5 months.
But we have been very pleased with this goat kefir mixture for many reasons.
